Aurora Town Council · Ward 2 · 2026
Elect
Marco
Di Girolamo
Your voice when it counts.
Ward 2 deserves a councillor who will always do what is right — not what is easy.
The record
He showed up for every minute
At the 2003 Rugby World Cup, Marco was the only Canadian to play every minute of every game. That's the same commitment he'll bring to Ward 2 — present, accountable, and in it for the team.
What I stand for
Three commitments to our community
Accountability
Decisions made in the open, with straight answers to residents. You deserve to know how and why your council votes the way it does.
Real-world experience
Three decades of building teams, leading under pressure, and getting results — applied to the real challenges facing Ward 2.
Strong leadership
A councillor who shows up, listens to everyone, and always does what's right — not what's easy.
Pillars
Where I'll focus on council
-
01
Community safety
Safe streets, safe parks, and neighbourhoods where families feel secure. That starts with listening to residents about what they're seeing on their own streets — and backing the people who keep Ward 2 safe.
-
02
Managed growth
Aurora is growing. The question is whether it grows well. New development has to arrive with the roads, services and infrastructure to support it, and it has to respect the character of the neighbourhoods already here.
-
03
Fiscal responsibility
Every dollar the town spends is a dollar a resident earned. I've run a business and met a budget, and I'll bring that same scrutiny to the council table — ask the hard questions, and expect real value for the money.
Real-world experience
A tradesman who builds for a living
Marco isn't just a candidate — he's Vice President of Deville Electric, an Aurora-area company serving the electrical and home-automation market since 1996. He's a Red Seal master electrician and a Lutron-certified home automation designer who sees projects through from start to finish.
He knows what it takes to run a business, meet a budget, hold a schedule, and earn the trust of inspectors, designers, and homeowners alike. That's the practical, get-it-done experience he'll bring to the council table.
Above all, Marco is a husband and father, raising his family right here in the community he wants to serve.
Business highlights
- Red Seal Master Electrician
- Successfully doubled the size of the company
- Expanded market share in a declining market
- Advocate for the trades and trade workers
About Marco
Known across Canada as a world-class athlete. Known in Aurora as someone who builds things that last.
Marco Di Girolamo represented Canada on the international stage as a centre and scrum-half, but his proudest work has been local: turning a hometown club into a national powerhouse and pouring himself into the community he chose to call home.
He's not a career politician. He's a captain, a coach, and a neighbour — someone who understands that real leadership means showing up, doing the work, and putting the team first. That's the experience he's ready to bring to council for Ward 2.

Over the past 24 years, I have had the privilege of calling Aurora home. During that time, I have witnessed firsthand what makes our community so special: people who step forward, give back without hesitation, and work tirelessly to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Among those individuals, Marco Di Girolamo stands out.
Whether through business, volunteerism, youth development, or sport, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to strengthening our community. His leadership extends far beyond professional success — it is measured by the lives he has influenced, the opportunities he has helped create, and the relationships he has built throughout Aurora.
As a respected business leader, Marco understands that flourishing local businesses are the foundation of a thriving community. He has long championed entrepreneurship, supported fellow business owners, and recognized that when local businesses succeed, our entire community benefits.
His commitment to Aurora, however, doesn't end when the workday is over.
On rugby fields across our town, he has devoted countless hours to coaching with the Aurora Barbarians Rugby Club, passing along the knowledge, discipline, and leadership that defined his own Hall of Fame playing career. More importantly, he has inspired young athletes to believe in themselves, embrace teamwork, and strive for excellence — lessons that will stay with them long after the final whistle.
That same passion for developing future leaders is reflected in his support of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce's Skilled Trades initiatives. By encouraging young people to explore rewarding careers in the trades, he continues to invest in the next generation, helping them discover opportunities, build confidence, and contribute to Aurora's future prosperity.
Leadership is not defined by titles. It is earned through service, integrity, and a willingness to put the community first. These are qualities I have seen demonstrated consistently over many years.
